Any 2007/08 South Carolina student in Middle School or High School may apply. Students must be at least 13 years of age to enter a video in this contest.
Groups of no more than 10 students from the same school or individual students can produce a video with the assistance of a teacher only serving as an advisor. However, only one team can be responsible for each video. Schools can have more than one individual/team enter the video contest. No professional assistance can be provided to produce this video in any manner.
Each entry must be the original work of the student or group of students submitting the video. It may not contain copyrighted material, such as popular songs, magazine cutouts, music videos, etc..., unless permission has been granted for its use. Use of copyrighted material without permission automatically disqualifies the entry.
Materials such as the Source Reference Sheet and Parent Permission Form are available. These forms are not a contest requirement but are available in case the teacher chooses to require students to turn this in to him/her.
Students winning cash who are 13 to 17 years of age must obtain parental permission to receive the award in a) cash or b) a college savings bond or they can choose a combination thereof. Absence of parental or guardian approval can lead to dismissal of the award.
The student or group leader must complete the online entry form (Begins Nov. 1) before uploading the video. Instructions for uploading videos can be accessed from a special landing page on OurStage.
While the videographer retains ownership and copyright of the videos, entry of your video in the contest gives the Healthy SC Challenge and its partners the right to reproduce and display the video and stills from the video for promotional and educational purposes.
In addition to these guidelines, the OurStage contest rules apply. A complete list of OurStage rules can be accessed at OurStage.com. The Healthy SC Challenge and OurStage reserve the right to deny awards to the creator(s) of the winning video(s) if contest rules or guidelines are not followed or if information on the registration form and the Potential Sweepstake's Winner's Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability Release are found to be incomplete or inaccurate.
